Mr. Ronan McKeown is an esteemed Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. Having graduated from Queen’s University Belfast Medical School in 1994, he possesses extensive expertise in general orthopaedic conditions and specialises in shoulder surgery.
During his training, Mr McKeown was actively engaged in clinical research, culminating in the prestigious award of a Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) from Queen’s University Belfast in 2003. In 2004, he further solidified his qualifications by successfully undertaking the intercollegiate exam in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCSI Tr&Orth).
Mr McKeown was appointed consultant, in the Southern Trust in 2007 and helped the Trust develop a new award winning Trauma and Orthopaedic service.
He was lead clinician for several years before assuming the role of Clinical Director, only stepping down from this role in September 2023, to enable more time to be devoted to his patients.
