Professor McCance’s has been in Specialist Endocrine and Diabetes practice for over 25 years. His undergraduate training involved a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, Phoenix, Arizona, USA before taking up post as Consultant Endocrinologist to the Regional Centre for Endocrinology and Diabetes, Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. His clinical interests include pituitary, adrenal and thyroid disorders, diabetes and diabetic pregnancy. He has extensive research publications some of which have influenced national clinical guidelines. He is Editor of an International Practical Manual of Diabetes in Pregnancy published by Black-Wiley (currently in its third edition).
