I have expertise in reporting specimens in the areas of urological pathology, medical renal and transplant pathology, dermatopathology and cytopathology.
My primary interests lie in diagnostic urological/renal and transplant pathology, teaching and urological research. I am the lead Consultant for the Urological Pathology Belfast Trust MDT. I am the Lead Author of Tissue pathways for urological specimens for the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) published in 2013, 2017 and recently updated 2024. These guidelines define the range of acceptable practice in Uropathology reporting in the UK, and the guidance is based on best practice guidelines with evidence-based new developments. I am an honorary Professor at the Ulster University.
