I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Spinal Surgery. I treat both adult and paediatric spinal conditions.
As well as private practice I work in The Royal Victoria and Musgrave Park Hospitals.
I graduated from Queen’s University Belfast, 1997 with MB BCh BAO (Honours).
In 2001 I Competed for, and was awarded national research grant by Orthopaedic Wishbone Trust Grant to perform 2 years full time research examining the possible role of infection in back conditions. I have published this work in peer reviewed journals. I have presented research work at national and international meetings.
I passed The Intercollegiate Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2006 and have been a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeon of England since 2006.
I completed a recognised Fellowship in Spinal Surgery 2007-2008 in Salford Foundation Trust.
I was appointed as full time NHS consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics specialising in Spinal Surgery in Belfast Trust in 2008. My areas of practice include cervical and lumbar disc problems, degenerative spinal conditions, spinal trauma, spinal tumours, spinal deformity (scoliosis) and spinal infections.
I am Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons England, a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and British Scoliosis Society.
